The Home Repair Loan Program page has the terms, and as of September 2026 it says funds are limited and given out first come, first served. The program decides whether a stair lift qualifies, so check with it before you apply.

They can, but older staircases are worth measuring first. The seat needs room to swivel at the top of a straight Harmar lift, and a staircase with a landing can take a lift on each flight. Stairs that wrap around a corner or pause at a landing can instead take a stair lift built for curves that rides the whole way in one seat.
